Total Psittacine Health Pack
This pack includes PBFD + Psittacosis + Polyomavirus, and you may choose between Faecal Analysis or Pacheco’s disease testing (prior contact with the laboratory is mandatory before sending samples).
Faecal analyses are performed from Monday to Thursday; therefore, samples must be sent to the laboratory from Monday to Wednesday using a 24-hour courier service.
If you are located outside the Iberian Peninsula, you must contact the laboratory in advance to select this option, as faecal samples must be as fresh as possible. For this purpose, you may use any 24-hour courier service or contract our NACEX service for €10 (shipments within the Peninsula).
Sterile containers can be purchased at any pharmacy. We recommend urine analysis tubes or small sterile containers. In both cases, a few drops of physiological saline should be added to the faeces to maintain humidity and pH (the sample should not be submerged, only kept moist). For collection, aluminium foil may be placed on the cage floor. A sterile ear swab can be used to introduce the sample into the tube.
Samples that do not meet these conditions may be rejected and discarded upon arrival at the laboratory.
We provide diagnostic services and may recommend treatments if necessary, but we do not issue prescriptions nor supply treatments.
